The teaser and glimpses of Yash’s upcoming film Toxic created a strong buzz, but not without controversy. A few sensual moments in the promo did not go well with a section of the audience, leading to criticism on social media.
Responding to this backlash, Yash made it clear that the film is not designed for shock value. He said the intention is different and the scenes are part of the storytelling, not just for glamour or attention.
Yash also strongly backed director Geetu Mohandas. He praised her vision and said she has brought a rare female gaze into an action film, which is something fresh and not often seen in this genre.
According to him, this approach changes how characters and emotions are presented on screen. Instead of typical mass angles, the film tries to show a different perspective, especially in how intimacy and relationships are handled.
Despite the ongoing debate, the team seems confident about their content. With a unique backdrop and bold storytelling, Toxic is clearly aiming to stand apart, even if it means facing some early criticism.
Toxic features Yash in a striking dual shade role, with Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria in key roles. Directed by Geetu Mohandas and backed by KVN Productions, the film is gearing up for a June 4 release.
