Shruti for Peddi: Buchi Has a Big Challenge

After weeks of speculation, the makers of Ram Charan’s highly anticipated upcoming film, Peddi, have finally locked Shruti Haasan for the special song. Several names of leading actresses have surfaced in the media as the potential forerunners to share screen space with Charan in this song, but it was Shruti Haasan who made the cut in the last minute, leaving everyone surprised.  

A lot has been discussed about this particular song since many months because moviegoers are very eager to see what is in store from director Buchi Babu in terms of making and presentation on the big screen. Now that Shruti Haasan is finalized, the shooting of this special song is going to commence shortly and this portion is likely to call it a wraps for the entire filming. 

Buchi Babu now has a big challenge to make sure that Shruti Haasan’s brief presence turns out to be visually appealing as item songs usually garner more attention of other numbers in the album in terms of both audio and video. From casting to lyrics, from music to cinematography, everything pertaining to item songs should be spot on without giving any room for criticism. 

The fact that Buchi has opted for a more familiar face like Shruti Haasan by ignoring the current generation heroines like Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde and Samyukta Menon, who initially were rumoured to be in consideration, will surely raise the eyebrows. But, one cannot simply write off Shruti Haasan given her experience in featuring such songs. She previously did special song in films Aagadu.

No doubt Shruti Haasan commands impeccable dancing skills and eye pleasing glamour, but Buchi Babu has a big challenge to make sure that he brings the best with her after such a long gap. He will also need to ensure that the combination of Charan and Shruti Haasan will be a treat for viewers. 

The big question now is whether someone with slim and slender apperance like Shruti Haasan can match Ram Charan’s bulky and muscular getup or not.

If Buchi Babu manages to showcase both dancers in the perfect frame, the negative buzz surrounding the song will surely be blown away.
