King Nagarjuna reconfirmed the release date of Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin as June 26th.
“Watched the first cut of our film LENIN last night. I say this with confidence and pride… you are about to witness a new AKHIL on June 26 2026. mark the date!!! see you in the theatres🔥(sic),” Nagarjuna posted on X.
Peddi is also being planned for June 25th release. The makers are yet to announce it officially but Buchi Babu dropped the hint at an event. If Peddi arrives on time, the point is if Akhil can afford a clash.
This is the sixth film of Akhil as hero. His previous five films have ended up as disappointments. Everyone thought Akhil was the next big thing in Tollywood but no film of his reached the expectation.
The spirits of Akkineni fans dropped over the years as a result. Many of them blame Nagarjuna for not caring enough. Finally, Nagarjuna is producing Lenin along with Sithara Entertainments.
Two songs of Lenin were out already and the buzz is yet to build. Pitching the film in direct competition with a Ram Charan’s film is very risky.
Peddi is high on hype with the promotional content. A clash can be very risky at this point in terms of visibility, release, and hype.
Also, when two films release in clash, there will be continuous comparisons in collections.
Akhil is not a comparable hero to Ram Charan yet but fans would want that to happen some day. So, the comparisons even though may sound absurd will come.
Akkineni fans will be hoping that this clash is not another mistake of Nagarjuna with Akhil’s career.
