Samantha Ruth Prabhu is finally getting ready to return to the big screen with Maa Inti Bangaram. After a long gap, this film is important for her, and naturally, there is a lot of focus around its release.
The team had earlier planned to release the film in mid May. Promotions also started recently, which gave a clear signal that the release was on track. But now, things seem to be changing.
The main reason is the ongoing IPL season. During this time, audience attention shifts heavily towards cricket, especially when the tournament reaches its final stage. Matches become more exciting, and many people prefer watching them instead of going to theatres.
Because of this, even strong films sometimes fail to pull expected crowds. This is something the makers are clearly aware of.
So, instead of taking a risk, Samantha and her team are now looking at a safer release window. There are talks that the film could be pushed to early June, after the IPL craze settles down. Distributors are also said to be supporting this move.
Promotions have slowed down for now, which further hints that a new release date announcement could come soon.
