Chennai Love Story vs EPIC: Not Good for Either?

Love stories always get a good reception at the box office in the Telugu states. We have seen that several times, and two love stories are gearing up for a grand July release. One of them is EPIC, while the other one is Chennai Love Story. The surprising element is that both movies are set for July 10th as their release date.

According to the latest reports, the teams are confident in the success of their movies and hope to impress audiences. However, trade pundits say July is a dry season for releases, and it is not a welcome move to see two love stories arrive on the same day. Usually, in such cases, only one of the two films will become a hit.

On the flip side, we have seen many instances where films have become successful regardless of season, genre, or release date. The audiences would solely opt a film based on the content.

That said, the times have changed, and viewers are very particular when choosing a film. When they have two similar films in front of them, they will pick only one.

If the releases happen on two different dates and both deliver strong content, the chances are high that both films will be embraced by the audience.

A clash at the box office can be calculated as a risky attempt for both films, and the producers should reassess the situation.

EPIC features Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and it is directed by Aditya Hasan. On the other hand, Chennai Love Story features Kiran Abbavaram and Gouri Priya. Ravi Namburi is the film’s director. Both films are backed by big production houses.
