Due to the dry season at ticket windows in the Telugu states, not many movies are actually performing well at the box office. However, films that receive negative or mixed reviews usually do not perform well, but the latest trend seems to suggest the opposite.
Suriya’s Karuppu, which was released with mixed talk, was expected to perform negatively. But things worked in the movie’s favor, resulting in it becoming a hit. Now, the same thing is expected to be witnessed for the film Drishyam 3 as well.
Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 was released on Thursday and opened to mixed reviews. The film also received negative reviews in other languages. But the film had a solid opening in the Telugu and Malayalam markets despite all these negative reviews. As the weekend is approaching, it is expected that families will check out the film, boosting revenues.
When it comes to Karuppu, Suriya’s star power helped the film perform well. The film’s high moments, Suriya’s image and other factors contributed to the film’s overall performance.
However, the case is not going to be the same with Drishyam 3. The film is more drama driven and could only draw the families which itself is a positive point too.
However, Drishyam 3 doing a Karuppu has less chances. Drishyam 3 might go well with Malayalam-film-vibe-loving audiences than the typical audiences. However, we should wait few more days to understand the same.
