In around a week from now, Ram Charan will be arriving on the big screens with his Peddi. This film is preparing for its release on June 4, and there are a few adverse situations within the industry.
There is this ongoing conflict between exhibitors and producers which is creating a peculiar situation across the industry.
While exhibitors are pushing for rental basis, in order to get a share in the profits, the producers are arguing otherwise. The matter has reached megastar Chiranjeevi and in a timely manner as well, considering that Peddi is releasing in a week and this ongoing issue could very well affect it.
With Chiranjeevi himself getting into action, the situation has subsided considerably, and the latest developments are suggesting that the exhibitors have agreed to release Peddi on the existing rental basis.
The percentage model, which is being extensively pushed by the exhibitors is likely to come to implementation from July 3, which is a month after Peddi’s release.
Hadn’t it been for Chiranjeevi’s involvement, Vriddhi production house that backed Peddi might’ve been in considerable trouble before the release. It is lucky that they have the backing of Chiranjeevi as the veteran has found an amicable solution to the scenario.
On the other hand, many are confused about why Telangana Film Chamber members are meeting Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
Recently, Producers reportedly discussed ticket hike issues in Andhra Pradesh along with the ongoing percentage-sharing issue.
However, since the Telangana Film Chamber is approaching the Deputy CM, many are questioning why a Telangana-based body is meeting an Andhra Pradesh leader.
We may get more clarity in the coming days on the reason behind this meeting.
