Legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is set to introduce a new experience unlike anything seen before with his dream project Sing Geetham.
Featuring a unique musical-comedy format where conversations themselves transform into songs, the film has already generated considerable curiosity through its teaser and songs.
Actress Shalini Kondepudi, who plays a pivotal role in the film, says audiences are in for a refreshing surprise. “No film in this genre has been made before. Everything in Sing Geetham is musical. Every artist had to undergo extensive workshops to learn how to perform dialogues in a musical format,” she revealed.
Produced by Nag Ashwin under the banners Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, the film is set in the fictional village of Kuberapuram. According to Shalini, the mystery behind why every character communicates through songs forms one of the movie’s biggest attractions.
The actress described her role as a strong antagonist with multiple layers. “My character is determined, believes she is always right, and will go to any extent to achieve her goals. It’s a powerful role with many shades and plenty of entertainment,” she said.
Shalini considers working with Singeetam Srinivasa Rao a career-defining opportunity. She praised the veteran filmmaker for personally overseeing every aspect of the project and ensuring that his original vision remained intact throughout production.
“This is a completely original concept with no cinematic references. Our only reference was the vision of Singeetham and Nag Ashwin. Nag Ashwin’s sensibilities and vision are also reflected in the film.”
One of the biggest challenges, she admitted, was adapting to the film’s unconventional format. “Singing a song is one thing, but turning every spoken dialogue into a song is entirely different. It required a lot of practice and discipline,” she explained.
She also credited music director Devi Sri Prasad for successfully blending speech and melody. “DSP sir has done something remarkable. His music has elevated the concept and given the film tremendous strength.”
As Sing Geetham gears up for its June 11 release, Shalini hopes its success will encourage more filmmakers to embrace bold and innovative storytelling. “When unique films succeed, they inspire many more creators to bring fresh ideas to the screen,” she said.
