Peddi Was Meant for Ram Charan, Not NTR: Buchi Babu

With just two days remaining for the release of Peddi, director Buchi Babu Sana has expressed immense confidence in the Mega Power Star Ram Charan-starrer, describing it as an emotional and powerful cinematic experience that audiences can enjoy with their families.

Buchi Babu revealed that Peddi is not the story that was once associated with NTR. “Those reports are incorrect. The NTR project was a different script altogether. Peddi was developed specifically for Ram Charan,” he clarified.

One of the biggest talking points of the film has been Charan’s remarkable physical makeover. Buchi Babu disclosed that the actor trained extensively in wrestling for several months and dedicated himself completely to the demanding role.

“The film explores three stages in Peddi’s life. We designed the looks carefully, but Charan exceeded every expectation. His transformation is simply unbelievable,” the filmmaker said.

The director also recalled several injuries Charan sustained during production, particularly while filming wrestling sequences. One incident even resulted in an eye injury that left the team worried. Despite the challenges, Charan continued shooting with unwavering commitment.

The filmmaker also had high praise for Janhvi Kapoor, calling her one of the film’s major strengths. He noted that her performance brings freshness and warmth to the romantic portions of the story.

On the musical front, Buchi Babu described collaborating with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman as a dream fulfilled. He revealed that two more songs from the album are yet to be discovered by audiences and promised they would become major highlights after release.

Interestingly, the director chose not to release additional promotional material despite the film’s massive buzz. He believes audiences should discover some of the film’s biggest emotional moments directly in theatres rather than through trailers.

There are reports that the movie features Abbani Thiyyani Debba song. “No. It is only heard briefly on a radio. We eventually muted it because we felt it might distract audiences from the narrative.”

Having watched the final copy, Buchi Babu expressed complete satisfaction. “I genuinely feel we have made a very good film,” he said.

His final message to audiences was simple: “Come with your family and enjoy the experience. The emotions, action, drama, and heart of Peddi will stay with you long after the film ends.”
