Industry Ban Revoked On Dhurandhar Star

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, bringing temporary relief in the ongoing controversy surrounding his exit from Don 3.

The decision was announced on June 3 following mediation efforts by the Producers Guild of India, the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), and the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA).

The dispute began after Singh reportedly stepped away from Don 3, leading producers to raise concerns about alleged losses and disruptions caused by last-minute departures from film projects. FWICE had earlier issued a directive urging its members not to cooperate with the actor until discussions were held regarding the matter.

Tensions escalated when Ranveer Singh served a legal notice to FWICE, challenging the directive and seeking legal recourse. The move prompted further industry discussions and calls for a peaceful resolution.

Announcing the withdrawal, FWICE president B.N. Tiwari said the decision was taken after requests from key industry bodies and stressed that no one has won or lost” in the matter. He added that all stakeholders would work toward an amicable solution through dialogue.

While the immediate conflict appears to have eased, the episode has reignited conversations about professional commitments, accountability, and dispute-resolution mechanisms within the Indian film industry.
