Peddi has reportedly opened with a sensational Day 1 gross of over Rs 115 crore worldwide, making it one of the biggest openings in Ram Charan’s career. The numbers have come as a pleasant surprise for many in the trade.
What makes this achievement more notable is that the film managed these figures despite receiving a mixed response to its trailer before release and slightly divided word of mouth on the opening day. The star power and hype around the film have clearly worked in its favor.
The weekend now becomes extremely important. With strong advance bookings and holiday advantage in several centers, Peddi is expected to post solid numbers over the next two days as well.
While the film is performing very well in the Telugu states, the real challenge lies outside its core markets. Karnataka has delivered decent numbers so far, but bigger contributions are needed from other regions.
North India and Tamil Nadu will be crucial in the coming days. If the film picks up momentum in these territories and sustains well from Monday onwards, Peddi will be in a strong position to recover its business and emerge as a major box office success.
