Obsession continues its dream run at the global box office. The film has now crossed the impressive $200M mark (1,900 Crore in Indian Currency) worldwide, turning into one of the biggest surprise hits in recent years.
What makes the achievement even more remarkable is its reported production budget of just 750K dollars (7 Crore). The film has already delivered extraordinary returns and is still attracting audiences across markets.
Trade analysts believe Obsession could finish its theatrical run with collections between $300M and $330M worldwide (Around 3,000 Crore). If that happens, the film will enter a rare league in box office history.
The numbers indicate that the film could generate more than 400 times its production cost. Very few movies have ever achieved such a massive multiplier at the worldwide box office.
Surprisingly, the film has also grossed around ₹45 crore in India. It started with modest expectations, but positive word of mouth helped it gain momentum. The film is now performing well across several centers and is expected to reach the ₹50 crore mark very soon.
With strong momentum still on its side, Obsession is no longer just a successful film. It is fast becoming a case study in how a tiny budget project can create an unprecedented global sensation.
