Toxic Lands in a Clash-Free Window

After months of delay and testing the patience of Yash’s fans with multiple postponements, the makers of Toxic : A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups have finally locked a perfect release date that helps the box office openings across all languages.

On the eve of Father’s Day, the team unveiled a fascinating new poster to announce the release date as August 26th. The dark poster features the KGF actor in a striking rugged avatar with another shadowed avatar standing beside him. The tagline “Honour Thy Father” hints the story will have elements of family legacy and conflict.

Toxic has been postponed two times in the last three months and the team managed to get an ideal date because there are no prominent releases in other languages and this will help the film’s pan-India box office prospects.

During that specific release week, there are no other major box office clashes to contend with. The only notable competition in Bollywood is Shraddha Kapoor’s promising film Eetha, which is scheduled to hit theaters a couple of days later on August 28. Aside from that, the Hindi market remains largely open.

Meanwhile, the Telugu film Paradise, which was originally slated for an August 21 release, is likely to be postponed, according to ongoing industry buzz. On the other hand, Sharwanand’s Bhogi and Ravi Teja’s Irumudi are planned for the same week, but they are unlikely to create any disruption outside the Telugu states. In fact, Toxic may secure a strong screen count in Telugu markets as it is being distributed by SVC.

Meanwhile, the highly awaited Tamil film Jailer 2, initially aiming for an August 14 release, is also facing delays because its shooting schedule is still pending completion.

So, Toxic will have a strong chance to utilise the box office vaccum and generate strong revenues across all territories. The film, directed by Geetu Mohandas, features an ensemble cast and renowned technicians. Massive budget was spent on its production. Hence, it will need to perform extremely well in all languages to recoup the investment.

The team should come up with a strong promotional content in the coming days to revive the hype in audiences.
