We all know how the Percentage System issue has rocked the Telugu Film Industry. Producers have been resisting this system in the name of lack of transparency in the Ticket Sales and are demanding Rentrak like System.
At this outset, there are instances of under-reporting unearthed.
At Hyderabad’s Sai Baba Theater (Shadnagar), the line inspector found that 302 tickets were sold for Saturday second show of ‘Maa Inti Bangaram’, while only 227 tickets were shown in the DCR.
This theater is under the control of Asian Suniel who also is the official distributor of Maa Inti Bangaram in Nizam. Previously, similar thing happened in BR Hitech Theater in Madhapur.
The theater which is in the heart of the city was caught under-reporting the sales of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veeramallu.
There was a discrepancy of 22 tickets and Telangana Film Chamber fined the theater 6000 Rupees per Ticket.
The theater is under the lease of Telangana Film Chamber’s Secretary, VL Sridhar. Now, it happened in the case of Maa Inti Bangaram.
This issue will become a point of discussion when the Percentage System meetings happen. Theater managements will have a tough time to explain.
