Ram Shares A Chilling Story To Raise Drug Awareness

Energetic Star Ram Pothineni took part in the Telangana Government’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2026 Event. He shared a chilling real-life story while speaking about drug abuse.

The actor revealed that he once met a man who had battled drug addiction for several years while living abroad. During their interaction, Ram asked him a straightforward question about how drugs had affected his life. The man admitted that although people naturally hope to live long, fulfilling lives, prolonged drug use had left him fearing for his future. The mental trauma and medical complications caused by addiction made him uncertain about how long he would live. Ram described this as one of the most heartbreaking realities of drug abuse.

The actor also addressed youngsters who fall into the trap of trying drugs simply to blend in with friends. Instead of using YOLO (You Only Live Once) as an excuse for risky behaviour, Ram urged people to use it as a reason to safeguard their future. He advised youngsters to confidently refuse anyone who encourages them to experiment with drugs.

He also applauded the Telangana Government’s Eagle Force initiative and encouraged citizens to use its toll-free helpline whenever they know someone struggling with substance abuse.
