SS Rajamouli has added another global recognition to his career after visiting the Lumière Museum in Lyon, France. The screening room where his films Eega and RRR were showcased to a packed audience became part of a memorable moment for the director.
During his visit Thierry Frémaux, Director of the Institut Lumière and Cannes Film Festival, personally introduced Rajamouli and later surprised him with a special gesture. He took him through the historic street where cinema was born, making the moment even more emotional for the filmmaker.
The biggest highlight came at the Mur des Cinéastes, a wall that features names of legendary filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, Quentin Tarantino and Francis Ford Coppola. Rajamouli was deeply moved when he discovered that his name has now been added to this prestigious wall, permanently placing him among global cinema legends.
The director expressed heartfelt gratitude and said it was a moment he would carry for life. He thanked the Institut Lumière for the honour and described the experience as deeply humbling.
With this recognition, Rajamouli continues to strengthen his position as one of the most celebrated Indian filmmakers on the world stage.
