Supreme Court Slams AI Hallucinations

The Supreme Court has set aside an NCLT judgment after finding it relied on fake AI generated legal citations. Calling such hallucinated precedents a serious threat to justice, the court directed the Bar Council of India to examine the issue. It stressed that AI can assist courts, but human oversight must remain absolute in judicial decisions.
