Akhil Akkineni’s popular nickname “Ayyagaru” has an interesting origin. It came from his die hard fan Nagaraju from Andhra Pradesh, whose emotional slogan praising Akhil went viral on social media years ago and eventually became a meme loved by fans.

Over the years, Akhil himself acknowledged Nagaraju’s unwavering support in interviews. Whenever an Akhil film releases, many fans eagerly look for Nagaraju’s reaction. The buzz was no different during the release of Lenin.

Since the success meet of Lenin was held in Guntur, Nagaraju finally got a chance to meet Akhil in person inside his caravan. The emotional fan could not control his feelings and broke down in tears as he fell at Akhil’s feet.

Akhil was visibly moved by the heartfelt moment. He comforted Nagaraju and told him that it was because of him that the name “Ayyagaru” became so popular among fans. He also introduced Nagaraju to his wife, making the fan even more emotional.
