Acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap has made a startling revelation about his latest film Bandar, starring Bobby Deol. In a recent interaction, Anurag stated that the version released in theaters is not the one he designed.
Kashyap says that he stayed away from promoting Bandar because he did not like the final theatrical version. The director revealed that several crucial portions of the film were removed during the editing process, significantly changing the narrative.
The Dacoit actor also added that the criticisms made were valid because the released version did not reflect his creative vision. Bandar, which features Bobby Deol plays the roles of a former star who gets accused in a high-profile sexual assault case.
While Bobby Deol’s performance received appreciation, the film faced criticism over its weird narrative. Kashyap slammed the increasing corporatization of the film industry for limiting filmmakers’ creative freedom.
His remarks have once again highlighted the ongoing debate between artistic vision and studio interference in modern filmmaking.
