Ramayana Trailer Postponement – A Wise Decision?

Nitesh Nitwari and Namit Malhotra are bringing Ramayana to the new-age audiences, with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi playing Lord Rama and Sita. The film is in the news for quite some time and the teaser opened to a mixed response.

However, the screening of the film’s trailer exclusively to the media recently generated a good response, and the team was planning to launch the trailer today, but suddenly came the postponement update. The film’s producer confirmed that the trailer will now arrive on a later date.

On one side, the fans are upset with this unexpected postponement as they were ready to witness the world of Ramayana. However, the postponement can be justified. The film needs to be promoted well on social media, and it must receive attention from people on the internet.

But the internet is currently burning with the news of students’ protests. Globally, the youth and media is focused on the protests. A nationwide bundh is also called today, with protests planned across multiple states.

In such a sensitive situation, it is not healthy to celebrate a film, but it is important to sympathize with the protestors. Right now, the reach will certainly be limited, and the film may not get the visibility that it is aiming for. So, a later date is inevitable, and whenever the situation comes under control, the trailer can be taken aggressively into the public.

What is most important for the team is to regain the buzz that it lost because of the teaser. When the trailer is an answer to that, the decision to postpone its launch is justified.

The team is confident of the content they packed in the trailer this time. When the teaser was launched, there was backlash that Ranbir alone was focused and the other actors’ glimpses were absent. But this time, the team took proper care in crafting an engaging trailer, say the media reports.

Yash is also a part of the film, playing Ravana, and the film will have a release in two parts, with the first part aimed for a release during Diwali 2026.
