Hyderabad Losing 10 Lakh Per Hour For Cyber Fraud!

It is already known that Hyderabad has been witnessing a lot of cyber fraud activities over the last few years, despite the increase the presence of the cyber Police department.

According to the statistics, it is being established that Hyderabad is losing in the vicinity of ₹10,00,000 per hour, each day to these cyber frauds. Roughly ₹2.4 crore is being lost each day by the Hyderabad citizens to these cyber fraud individuals.

To put that into perspective, Hyderabad citizens have lost ₹439 crore in the first 6 months of 2026, and this explains the degree of fraud activities that have been happening in the city.

Compare to 2024, the number of cases in 2025 and 2026 have been significantly lesser, but the problem has been with the fact that the volume of the financial scam in terms of amount is going up.

Hyderabad cyber wing has established dedicated groups within the department to counter the cyber fraud activities, but these individuals have been displaying more intellect and finding new ways to cheat people.

The most common way of losing money to cyber fraud is when people promise you bigger returns in the stock market and trading. This continues to be the most prominent way for cyber fraudsters to cheat the common public. Along with that, there are several leather mechanisms like traffic, challenges, and online shopping parcels that are scamming people.
