How Is CM’s Film Performing At Telugu Box Office!

Tamil Nadu CM Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has slowed down at the box office on day 2 after a decent opening on Day 1. The film opened well on Day 1 in the Telugu states, collecting close to ₹4 crore gross thanks to Vijay’s strong fan base. However, negative reviews and poor audience response quickly affected its run.

The situation became tougher after Chennai Love Story released. As a result, Jana Nayagan’s collections dropped sharply on the second day. The film reportedly managed only around ₹1.5 crore gross in the Telugu states, showing a steep fall.

Advance bookings for the weekend are also said to be weak. While Chennai Love Story is expected to attract more audiences over Saturday and Sunday, Jana Nayagan is struggling to maintain occupancy despite getting a good number of screens.

The trend is similar in Tamil Nadu as well. After a strong opening, the film’s Day 2 collections reportedly fell by nearly 50%. It earned around ₹45 crore net in India on the first day, followed by nearly ₹23 crore net on the second day. Worldwide, the film has grossed around ₹115 crore in two days.

Made on a reported budget of around ₹400 crore, the film has already faced several hurdles, including multiple release delays and piracy issues before its release.
