Malayalam actor-director-producer Prithviraj Sukumaran is known for his versatility and powerful performances. He is now being credited with yet another rare feat, perhaps the only actor to have multiple film releases while simultaneously working with perfectionist SS Rajamouli on the pan-global film Varanasi.
Recently, Prithviraj’s I, Nobody was released on July 9, 2026. The heist thriller received mixed reviews. It was lapped up for its technical brilliance and gripping first half, however, the film’s second half was dubbed as chaotic and confusing, leaving mixed talk. The film was released in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil languages.
Prithviraj is now gearing up for his next release, Khalifa. The film recently wrapped up shooting, and Prithviraj officially announced that Khalifa will hit theatres on August 20, 2026, as an Onam release. It is going to be released in Telugu and Tamil along with the original Malayalam.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj is also set to produce a film with National Award-winning director Krishand. The film will feature Sanju Sivram as one of the leads. Sanju was also part of I, Nobody and will be seen in Khalifa. Prithviraj himself announced his collaboration with Krishand during the promotions of I, Nobody.
Perhaps Prithviraj is the only actor who continues to have back-to-back releases while actively producing films and working on his own projects, even as he is part of SS Rajamouli’s ambitious Varanasi.
