Venky’s Clear Message to Bollywood Stars Eyeing South Cinema

Deepika Padukone opted out of Kalki 2 and Spirit because she could not align herself with the working conditions in South cinema. When the announcements were made, there was a huge debate on social media, with fans supporting the actor.

Even now, many filmmakers are being asked to share their opinion on this. The latest to voice his opinion is director Venky Atluri, who is working on the promotions of Viswanath and Sons, starring Suriya in the lead. Venky has given a practical answer: Bollywood actors must adapt to the conditions they are getting to work with.

“If I’m doing a Bollywood film, I will learn the culture & working standards there. After that, I will start. In the same way, if a Bollywood actor comes to Telugu, they have to adopt similarly. We used to work for 11-12 hrs on the set. Be it a Tamil, Malayalam, or Hindi actor, they should adapt to Telugu working conditions,” said Venky.

Venky Atluri is making films in Telugu and Tamil and did not express interest in working in Hindi cinema. But he is conscious enough to make a statement that he has to learn the culture and respect the working standards there, and it is a sign of professionalism.

Similarly, anyone who wants to come down to Telugu or South must understand the working conditions and then mould accordingly. Instead, if being adamant is the option, survival will come to an end.

Coming to Viswanath and Sons, the film also features Mamitha Baiju as the leading lady. GV Prakash Kumar is the music director. The film was shot in Tamil, and it will be dubbed into Telugu. The movie will release on August 14th.
