Mega Prince Varun Tej hasn’t had a solid hit in recent times, but the actor is delighted with the way Korean Kanakaraju is being celebrated in theatres. The film has already crossed 1 lakh ticket sales on BookMyShow alone, while bookings continue to remain highly encouraging, thanks to the positive word of mouth. Varun Tej and the team are confident that the film will only grow stronger in the coming days.

Director Merlapaka Gandhi admitted that the film marked an important milestone in his career. “Varun Tej has been the biggest pillar behind this project from the very beginning. It’s been a long time since I witnessed audiences laughing this loudly in theatres for one of my films, something I previously experienced with Venkatadri Express and Express Raja. Seeing that happen again is immensely satisfying. Varun Tej excelled in both the Rayalaseema and Korean avatars, while Satya’s chemistry with him became one of the film’s strongest assets.”

Varun Tej said the response in theatres had surpassed all expectations. “The premiere response itself gave us immense happiness. We believed in the film from the beginning, but the love we’ve received is far beyond what we imagined. Viewers are enjoying the comedy immensely, especially Satya’s role. We’re confident the box office numbers will become even stronger over the weekend.”

The actor also addressed the debate over imitation of Sr NTR in the film. “Imitation shouldn’t be confused with trolling. Cinema has always celebrated iconic performances through imitation. Everything was done respectfully and purely for entertainment. There was never any intention to offend anyone.”

He further said that his wife Lavanya Tripathi was thrilled with the film’s success and added with a smile that the birth of their son had brought good luck into his life.

Producer Rajeev Reddy expressed his delight over the film’s success, saying, “It’s been nine years since we delivered a hit. We’re truly thrilled with the phenomenal response to Korean Kanakaraju.”
