Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 Release To Be Postponed?

Doubts are now emerging over the release date of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. The film was announced for October 15, but multiple Telugu films are now reportedly targeting the October 16 weekend, raising questions about whether Jailer 2 will actually arrive as planned.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali, bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, announced its release for October 16. Now, Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas’ Adarsha Kutumbam (AK 47) is also looking at the same date, especially if an October 9 release does not work out.

With major Telugu films considering the October 16 slot, doubts are naturally growing over Jailer 2. If Jailer 2 is firmly locked for October 15, it would be difficult for two major Telugu films to deliberately enter a direct clash with it.

Although Jailer 2 is a Tamil film, Rajinikanth enjoys huge stardom and a massive fan following in the Telugu states. The first Jailer was a blockbuster in Telugu as well, giving the sequel strong anticipation among Telugu audiences.

There have also been recent examples of Tamil-origin films performing exceptionally well in the Telugu market. Vishwanath And Sons, starring Suriya, reportedly became a bigger blockbuster in Telugu than in Tamil, despite being originally made as a Tamil film.

All these factors suggest that Jailer 2 remains a major factor in the October release race. If the Rajinikanth-starrer is indeed releasing on October 15 as announced, it is unlikely that AK 47 would be targeting October 16.

This has led to growing speculation that there could be a change in Jailer 2’s release plans, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
