Telugu cinema seems to have found another young actress to watch out for. Anaswara Rajan, who has already made an impression with her Malayalam films, is slowly becoming a popular choice for Telugu filmmakers.
What makes her rise interesting is that Anaswara has had only one Telugu release so far. Her debut film Champion failed to create much impact at the box office. Despite that, the actress continues to land promising Telugu projects.
Anaswara is already working on Itlu Arjun and has now been signed opposite Santosh Shoban for Antha Ramulooru Choosukuntaru. Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni’s comments about bringing her into the project have now caught attention.
He revealed that Anaswara liked the story but initially could not give dates. However, the makers were keen on having her for the role and reportedly kept pursuing her for around six months before she finally agreed.
That itself says a lot about the position Anaswara is currently enjoying. An actress with just one Telugu film is already being chased for specific roles by established filmmakers.
The success of Malayalam actresses in Telugu has been growing steadily, especially after Telugu audiences became more familiar with Malayalam cinema through OTT. Mamitha Baiju and Anaswara are now emerging as two of the young names benefiting from this trend.
Interestingly, Anaswara is also said to be getting significantly better remuneration for her Telugu projects compared to her Malayalam films.
