Toxic’s OTT Value Crashes To 30Cr After BO Disaster?

Yash’s ambitious pan-India film Toxic continues to face trouble even after its disappointing theatrical run. The latest reports suggest that the film’s digital rights are still unsold, creating fresh concerns for the makers.

Before the film’s release, there was massive confidence surrounding Toxic. Reports claim that a leading OTT platform had offered around Rs. 150 crore for the streaming rights. However, the makers reportedly expected more than Rs. 200 crore, believing that the film would become a blockbuster and command a much bigger digital deal after its theatrical success.

The film received poor word of mouth after release, and its box office performance failed to meet the huge expectations. As a result, streaming platforms are now reportedly offering only around Rs. 30 crore for the digital rights, as per Bollywood media reports.

Reports suggest that Zee5 has made the biggest offer so far, and the makers are now exploring ways to reduce their losses. Satellite rights are also expected to bring limited revenue because of the film’s adult-oriented content.

What was once expected to be one of the biggest successes of the year has now become a tension-filled project for the makers. Yash has gone into hiding and is nowhere to be seen of late.
