Well, it looks like the ‘Indian’ franchise may not be over yet. While Indian 2 failed to impress audiences and brought work on the next chapter to a halt, the third part could now finally move ahead.
Interestingly, a major portion of Indian 3 has already been shot along with Indian 2. The film does not reportedly require extensive fresh shooting, with only minor patchwork remaining. However, a substantial amount of computer graphics work is still pending.
The project was put on hold following the disappointing response to Indian 2. Now, as per the latest news from Chennai, the makers could soon resume the post-production process and take the film forward.
Kamal Haasan is expected to return as Senapathy, while Shankar will continue as the director. The development is particularly noteworthy given Shankar’s recent career struggles following the failure of Game Changer.
For now, there is no official announcement regarding the restart. However, with much of the shoot already completed, Indian 3 could be a project that the makers decide to finish and release as soon as possible.
