Bhavana Studios, the production house behind the blockbusters Premalu and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, has announced its next film, Picnic.
The family comedy drama marks the directorial debut of writer Kiran Josey, who co-wrote both of the banner’s recent successes- Premalu and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
Produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran, Picnic features Sandeep Pradeep, Indrajith Sukumaran and Dileesh Pothan in prominent roles.
The first look poster introduces the world of Picnic. Characters belonging to different generations are seen together in what appears to be a family outing.
A young man and woman are seated alongside an elderly woman and another female character, while two men stand behind them holding a large blue-green cloth.
The contrast between the cheerful group and the picturesque setting hints at a fun-filled journey at the heart of the film.
Adding further musical value to the project is Govind Vasantha, known for his work on films such as 96 and Sathyam Sundaram.
Showing Business, which previously introduced Premalu to Telugu audiences, has come on board for the Telugu theatrical release.
Picnic is scheduled to release worldwide in theatres on January 14, 2027, coinciding with Sankranthi.
