Sampoornesh Babu, who is largely known for his spoof entertainers, is set to surprise audiences with a completely different avatar in Nani’s The Paradise. He plays a key character named Biryani in the Nani starrer and believes the role could mark a turning point in his career.
Speaking to Gulte pro, Sampoo admitted that he was never very serious about his acting career in the past and mostly chose comedy films for financial reasons. However, he always wanted to prove himself as a performer and was waiting for an opportunity to prove his mettle. That opportunity, he says, came through director Srikanth Odela.
Sampoornesh revealed that after spending around ten days on the set of The Paradise, he began questioning some of his earlier career choices. He felt he could have explored stronger character-driven roles instead of limiting himself to comedy-oriented films.
Sampoo was full of praise for Nani and revealed that there were occasions when he needed multiple takes, but Srikanth Odela and Nani encouraged him to deliver the performance. Sampoo also adds that if a role like Biryani had come his way four years ago, his career might have taken a very different direction.
Sampoo finally says Biryani is a character that carries significant emotional weight in The Paradise and is not just another sidekick. With the film releasing on September 24, audiences are now eager to see a completely new side of Sampoo. Let’s see whether he delivers.
