Senior Actress Turns AD to Help a Small Film

Happy Journey brings together seven female actors, and the movie, which was released yesterday, has received a decent response from all corners. At the film’s meet, director Abhiram Naidu opened up about the challenges during the shoot and the commitment of his actors.

One of the most touching revelations came when Abhiram spoke about the pre-climax sequence between Annapurnamma and Jhansi. “That hugging scene between Annapurnamma and Jhansi in the pre-climax is a real emotion. Tears rolled down from their eyes without using glycerine. The audiences are deeply connecting with the sequence.”

He also spoke about Jhansi’s contribution to the project, revealing how she stepped into the role of an Assistant Director when unexpected circumstances disrupted their Paris schedule. “When we landed in Paris and had to start shooting, our flights were canceled due to the situation in Dubai, and our locations kept changing. Jhansi came up to me and said that she would work as an AD. She genuinely started working as an Assistant Director.”

The director explained that the character she played was conceived to highlight the struggles of single mothers. “Through Jhansi’s character as a single mother, we wanted to show how hard single mothers work to raise their children and the sacrifices they make. That connected deeply.”

Abhiram also praised Payal for bringing authenticity to a character caught between personal aspirations and family expectations. He also thanked actor Wamcee for his comic timing, along with the other actors and technicians for their contribution.
