YCP Desperately Defending Tirumala Laddu Adulteration?

The Tirumala Laddu controversy has been one of the most controversial and socially significant events in Andhra Pradesh’s political history. It is still continuing to make headlines even to this day.

The latest news is that the enforcement director has arrested an individual associated with adulteration of this Tirumala laddu ghee.

Yesterday, the enforcement directorate had publicly communicated that they had arrested Kailash Chand Mangla in the alleged Tirupati laddu ghee adulteration case.

The agency says adulterated ghee worth about ₹60 crore was supplied to TTD between 2019 and 2024 as part of an overall ₹230-crore supply.

ED said its investigation found that the ghee supplied as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was allegedly manufactured using refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, palmolein and various chemicals.

It is being made very clear by the ED report that problematic chemicals and adult items were used in the preparation of the ghee that was sent for the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddu.

However, this is being desperately defended by the YCP ecosystem as they are saying that the ED confirmed that there is no trace of animal fat in the ghee.

Since last night, YCP has been pushing the strong narrative on social media, where they are claiming that animal fat has not been identified in the Laddu samples and are looking to make a meal out of this.

But at the fundamental level, the ED investigation did not speak a single word about the animal fat topic. Nowhere is is mentioned that the sample did not contain animal fat. More importantly, it is being established that several problematic ingredients were identified in the ghee sample in the first place.

While people are panicking about the presence of external ingredients in the sacred Tirumala Laddu ghee, YCP slapping about animal fat has become an act of desperation.
