Thalapathy Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay made his directorial debut in Tamil recently with the film Sigma. Sundeep Kishan played the lead role, and the film was also released in Telugu under the same title.
The film carried some expectations, and everyone hoped that Sanjay’s directorial skills would mesmerize everyone since he got Lyca Productions on board for this prestigious film. However, the film failed, and now Sanjay has moved on to his next option, acting.
Sanjay is reportedly in talks with Lyca Productions again for his acting debut. The production house is reportedly in talks with several popular directors, including Linguswamy, for Sanjay’s debut film. As of now, nothing is finalized, but a section of TN media reports that Sigma executive producer Sanjeev is likely the frontrunner to grab the opportunity.
Word in Tinseltown is that the film is being made on a budget of ₹35 crore, with Jason Sanjay reportedly receiving a whopping ₹10 crore as remuneration for his debut as a hero. Moreover, Sangeetha’s father, Vijay’s father in law, a businessman, is reportedly involved in pushing the project forward in association with Lyca’s Subaskaran.
Sanjay may not be directly leveraging his father’s name and fame, but he is cleverly testing his luck across multiple genres of cinema. He hasn’t proven his skill as a director, and now it will be a big test for him as an actor, since Vijay is a big star and comparisons are inevitable.
An official confirmation on the same is expected to be out soon.
