The release plans of two big Telugu films, Fauzi and Varanasi, have raised a lot of questions. As per the latest reports, the makers of Prabhas’ Fauzi are looking at March 18 as the release date, while SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, is still scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 7, 2027.
If both films stick to these dates, there will be only around 20 days between their theatrical releases. This has become a talking point, considering the scale and expectations surrounding both projects.
Earlier, there was a bigger gap between Spirit, which was reportedly planned for March 5, and Varanasi on April 7. That window would have given audiences more time to watch one film before shifting their attention to the next big release.
Now, Spirit is also set to get postponed. However, with Fauzi now reportedly targeting March 18, the gap has narrowed considerably. The concern is not just about the release dates as big-budget entertainers often need a longer theatrical run to recover their investments.
A gap of 20 days may not necessarily affect either film, but the makers will have to consider the impact on theatres, audience attention and box-office collections. For now, the reported dates have sparked debate, and fans will be watching closely to see whether the makers retain their plans or make further changes.
