Supreme Dismisses AP Govt’s Petition On BC Reservations

The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh state government regarding Backward Class (BC) quotas in upcoming local body elections. The AP government sought to provide 34% reservations for BCs in local polls. After the High Court struck down the case, the state appealed to the Supreme Court, which upheld the High Court’s ruling and dismissed the petition.
