Jailer 2 Telugu: Good But Not A Super Start!

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 released with minimal promotions. Even the film has limited promotions in Tamil Nadu and couldn’t hold a public event due to the unknown reasons. All these made Jailer 2 confined to only decent buzz.

The film opened to mixed reviews from a section of audiences and critics the other day. Despite the decent buzz and mixed talk, Jailer 2 performed good at Day 1 at the box-office. The film opened to good all over, once again proving Superstar’s undiminishing charisma and craze.

As per trade sources, Jailer 2 got an estimated opening of over Rs 125 crore worldwide on the opening day, including the overseas premieres. This is a phenomenal start for a film with minimal promotions and decent buzz. With no major releases in Tamil and the advantage of Dasara holidays, Jailer 2 has made a promising start at the box office.

Meanwhile, Jailer 2 in Telugu managed to open with around Rs 15 crore gross, as per early estimates and the accurate figures are yet to come. This isn’t a great start for Rajini’s film in Telugu especially considering its pre release business, but it needs to be seen whether the film will pick up from here. As Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika starrer Ranabaali releases today, it is interesting to see how it affects Jailer 2’s performance in the Telugu market.

This weekend and the remaining Dasara holidays look promising for the film. However, with huge targets to achieve in every territory, Thalaivar needs to pull in more numbers in the coming days to make Jailer 2 a successful venture. Let’s hope for the best.
