Producer Kalaipuli Thanu has shared an interesting update about two of his most anticipated Tamil films, Arasan and Vaadi Vaasal, both directed by Vetri Maaran. Arasan stars Simbu and belongs to the world of Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai.
Thanu confirmed that shooting of Arasan would take place at Film City, after which the director would take a short break and then shoot for his other film, Rajan Vagayarah.
Then, Thanu also spoke about the ambitious plans for Suriya’s Vaadi Vaasal, which is now on hold and is set in the jallikattu backdrop. Thanu revealed the team spent around ₹3 crore on developing an animatronic bull in London for Vaadi Vaasal.
He also assured fans that the effort and money invested in the project would not go to waste, and that pre-production is taking time. Although Vaadi Vaasal has faced delays, the producer’s latest comments have renewed hope among fans who felt the project was shelved.
With Arasan progressing and the ambitious Suriya project still on the cards, both Vetrimaaran films remain major talking points in Tamil cinema. One needs to see how and when these films will be ready for release in 2027.
