Cinemas have been shut down for almost nine months leaving the film trade in dire straits and the situation wouldn’t get better unless notable films hit the marquee. One of the producers had to take the risk to see how filmgoers respond to a new release in theaters. The makers of Solo Brathuke So Better had the liberty of taking that risk as they sold the entire rights of the film to Zee Studio.
Thankfully, Zee Studio didn’t go for direct to digital release and opted for theatrical release. Hence, SBSB has become the first major Telugu film to hit the theaters post lockdown. Starring Sai Dharam Tej and Nabha Natesh as the lead pair, the film is directed by Subbu and bankrolled by BVSN Prasad. Whole Tollywood is eagerly waiting for the box office result of SBSB as there are more than half a dozen films waiting for release.
Filmgoers have responded well despite the news of new strain of coronavirus rising concerns. The bookings of SBSB have been pretty decent considering the current situation. It can set the cash registers ringing if it generates good word of mouth. A lot depends on how the film turns out to be. The movie unit seems to be pretty confident about their product. Stay tuned for the movie’s verdict that will be out in a few hours.
