Won’t Join Politics: Rajinikanth

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who was all set for his political debut and all set to make a formal announcement about the launch of his new political party on December 31st, has withdrawn his plans. Rajini did a volte-face. Rajini has finally announced that he will not join politics.

The superstar took to Twitter and posted a lengthy announcement through 3-page letter. Rajinikanth cited his health condition as the reason for not opting for politics.

Rajinikanth said he sees the recent incident in his life as a message from God. He said what happened during the shooting of Annaatthe in Hyderabad where the film’s crew tested positive and he subsequently admitted to hospital due to fluctuation in his blood pressure as the message of God.

It may be recalled that Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Hyderabad last Friday due to high blood pressure. A team of doctors at Apollo has treated him and advised him a week of bed rest. The medical experts asked Rajini to stay away from tensions and stress due to his health condition. Rajini, who discharged on Sunday, has returned to home in Chennai. Rajini’s decision on politics come as a huge disappointment to his fans who have been waiting for his political entry with bated breath.

Rajini’s no to politics is expected to affect the political scenario in Tamil Nadu the state that is heading for Assembly elections soon after the demise of two of its political stalwarts Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi.
