Making the speculations true, the makers of ‘Shaakuntalam’ have announced the lead actor and she is none other than happening actress Samantha Akkineni. Unveiling a ‘BIG REVEAL’ motion poster, it said, ‘The Ethereal and Demure.. Shakuntala is Samantha.’
Gunasekhar is the writer and director of the film and he is making it as a pan India project. Though it’s an epic love story that has historical significance, Samantha will carry the film on her shoulders.
‘Shaakuntalam’ is loosely based upon a love affair, secret marriage, separation of imprecation and reunion of immortal love of Dushyanta and Shakuntala. The makers are yet to lock Dushyant and might feature a popular face as it’s a multilingual movie.
Mani Sharma will compose music while Neelima Guna will be bankrolling the movie.
