2021: ‘Chartbusters’ nama Samvatsaram!

Songs always help movies in pulling the crowd to the theatres. If any film’s song manages to grab the attention of the audiences and becomes a chartbuster, the crowd will automatically come into the theatres to at least watch that particular song on the big screen. The makers have realized this formula and are coming with good tracks these days. We have seen a bunch of chartbusters already in the first two months of 2021.

Soothings melodies of Devi Sri Prasad helped Uppena in getting good openings at the box-office. The same is the case with Pradeep’s 30 Rojullo Preminchadam Ela. In fact, the makers of this film promoted their release using the popularity of the track, Neeli Neeli Aakaasham. Even the upcoming releases feature some chartbuster songs.

Naveen Polishetty’s Jathi Rathnalu is all set to hit the screens on March 11. Chitti, the quirky melody from this film, is now one of the most popular tracks in Tollywood. Sung by Miriyala Ram and composed by Radhan, this song has more than 14 million views on Youtube. It was written by Ramajogaiah Sastry.

Sid Sriram has become the soul of love songs in Telugu these days. This year, he started out with a bang once again with the song Oke Oka Lokam from the movie Sasi. This chartbuster crossed 54 million views in less than two months. Arun Chiluveru composed the music of it and the lyrics were penned by Chandrabose.

Music director Mickey J Meyer is in the top form too. He has given two unique tunes for Sharwanand’s Sreekaram which are catching attention. One of the songs, ‘Bhalegundi Bala’ released last year itself and is still strong in capturing listeners’ love. Another song is the film’s title track that released recently. Penchel Das penned and crooned Bhalegundi Bala. The song crossed 4 crore views. The title track that arrived 5 days ago 8 lakh views. Ramajogayya Sastry penned the song and Prudhvi Chandra crooned it.

Last year, Bollywood singer Armaan Malik shot to fame with the highly popular song Butta Bomma. This time, he came up with yet another instant ear-worm Guche Gulabi. Thaman composed this song for the film Most Eligible Bachelor. The song garnered over three million views on Youtube.

Nee Chitram Choosi and Saranga Dariya are two chartbusters from Shekhar Kammula’s Love Story. The latter got more than 6 million views in less than 30 hours. Even Nee Chitram Choosi has over 3 million views on Youtube.

The other popular tracks of this year include Fififee from Gaali Sampath, My Name is Raju from Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, Chusale Kallara and Chukkala Chunni from SR Kalyana Mandapam. Anyway, it is good to see filmmakers giving importance to the music and coming up with these chartbusters.
