‘Virata Parvam’ Marks A New Beginning Of Promotions

Film promotion is a crucial aspect of filmmaking. With the wide use of social media in the current times, it is very important for the filmmakers to make sure their film reaches all section of audiences. In general, the saying goes like a male protagonist drives the movie which is different when it comes to female-oriented films. But, for the first time in Tollywood, a film’s team is implementing a female-oriented marketing strategy even though the film features a mainstream pan-India actor in the male lead. The film we are talking about is Virata Parvam, featuring Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati.

In one of her earlier interviews about the film, Sai Pallavi heaped praises on Rana Daggubati that it is nice of him to ensure her name appears first on the posters and in the film. Virata Parvam has Sai Pallavi in full-length and compared to all other actors, her character carries a lot of significance. The film’s teaser also started with Sai Pallavi and ended with Sai Pallavi. Usually, the filmmakers will make sure to give ample space for the male leads in promotional materials, irrespective of their importance in the film’s script. But, for a change, the makers of Virata Parvam decided to keep Sai Pallavi as the face of their movie.

Director Venu Udugula already impressed everyone with his debut, Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha. After a long time, he is coming up with this prestigious project. In general, having females driving the film, that too, the film’s promotions is the rarest thing in the Tollywood film industry. In Bollywood, we have seen the actors like Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu, Kangana Ranaut, and others doing the same. But, down South, it is the first of its kind campaign that the film unit launched with a female actor driving the film’s marketing strategy.

Except for a look poster and teaser, the audiences did not see much of Rana Daggubati from the movie. But, the makers launched Sai Pallavi’s look, teaser, song and on the occasion of Ugadi today, they came up with a new poster that only features Sai Pallavi. It clearly says how much significance Sai Pallavi has in the film and in the marketing strategy.

The audiences today became open and welcoming for new changes and we hope that team Virata Parvam becomes successful with this strategy so that others will follow the same, rather than diverting the viewers with misleading marketing strategies.

Virata Parvam also features Priyamani, Nandita Das, Waheeda Rahman, and others in crucial roles.
