Naga Chaitanya and Samantha starrer ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ original version is ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya.’ This Tamil film featured Simbu and Trisha and had a different climax wherein the protagonist stays single while the female lead gets married to a different person.
After a decade, director Gautham Menon has come up with extended version of the film in the form of a short film titled ‘Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn.’ This 12 minutes short film is about Karthik who is still a struggling filmmaker and is stuck at his home due to lockdown. Karthik is unable to pen a script and so dials Jessie for cope up with the discomfort.
All throughout the 12 minutes Karthik and Jessie talk over the phone. Jessie tries to motivate Karthik a bit and have a intense talk which makes the audience visit the film.
Written and directed by Gautham Menon, he filmed this short film using iPhone while AR Rahman provided the background music.
