‘Saina’ Premieres On Amazon Prime Video

One of the few Bollywood films that had hit the theatres this year is Saina, the biopic of star badminton player Saina Nehwal. Directed by Amol Gupte of Taare Zameen Par fame, this film featured Parineeti Chopra in the titular role. After almost a month of its theatrical release, this sports drama premieres on Amazon Prime Video today.

Saina was initially supposed to hit the screens in the second half of 2020 but the makers have postponed the release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, it was released on March 26. The film received mixed reviews but Parineeti was appreciated for her performance.

Saina features Manav Kaul as Pullela Gopichand and Eshan Naqvi as Parupalli Kashyap. The 50% occupancy rule in North India also affected the film’s theatrical run. People who missed it watching in the theatres and people who love biographical sports dramas can now catch Saina on Prime Video.
