Published by

In a strange incident, a director has moved the court to stop his own movie from releasing. Tamil actor Simbu’s Maha movie has finally cleared all the hurdles of shooting and controversies to be released on OTT. But the latest we hear is that the director of the movie U.R. Jameel is seeking its ban from release.

Simbhu and Hansika starrer Maha was started almost two years back. As the movie is gearing for release via OTT, the director filed a case against the producer saying the film was finished without his knowledge. He filed a restraining against the production company from publishing the film via OTT.

The director alleges that some portions of the movie have been filmed by his assistant director without considering the necessary scenes for the story. He also alleged that the film was edited without his knowledge and also recorded the background score.

According to the director’s petition, heroine Hansika is the flight attendant who falls in love with flight pilot Simbu. The baby girl born to them is killed and how the protagonist takes down the people behind it forms the story.

Jameel alleges that the producers agreed to pay 24 lakh rupees but were paid only 8 lakh 15 thousand rupees only. Now he demands the remaining balance to be paid along with the Rs 10 lakh compensation for filming without his knowledge. Judge Krishnan Ramasamy asked the producers, assistant director, Anju Vijay, to respond to the petition by May 19.
