DSP Or Thaman – Who Is More Pricey?

The most occupied and trending music directors in the South and particularly in Telugu are Devi Sri Prasad and S Thaman. A big-ticket film should have one of these names in the credits. Both Devi Sri and Thaman have delivered blockbusters over the last many years. Off late there is a talk that these two top Telugu music composers are brought together to work for a Superstar’s movie. If it is true how big are they getting paid?

It is being rumored that Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman have been approached for Trivikram – Mahesh Babu’s SSMB28, as Mahesh reportedly wanted the songs from Devi while Trivikram is more inclined towards Thaman. Trivikram shares a great rapport with both the composers, but with the humongous response for Ala Vaikuntapuram lo’s songs, the director is heard to be paying little extra interest towards Thaman’s tunes.

Rumors apart, there are discussions are social media about how much these top music directors charge for a movie. Though it is always ‘you get what you pay for, but for a minimum, Devi Sri is heard to be charging around 4 crore rupees for a movie, and Thaman is said to be taking home some 3 crore rupees for the same.

It is more like if Devi Sri Prasad scores back-to-back super successful songs in a year, the next year is taken over by Thaman with his chartbusters. Needless to say, they have a handful of films each at the moment.

Devi Sri has got Pushpa, Khiladi, F3, PSPK28, Rapo19, and Rowdyboys yet for release, while his Uppena, Rang De, Alludu Adhurs already released this year. Thaman has got Akhil’s Agent, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Tuck Jagadish, Akhanda, and Sooryavanshi yet to release, while his music for Krack, Wild Dog, Yuvarathna, and Vakeel Saab garnered great applause.

Apart from DSP and Thaman, music directors like Manisharma, Kalabhairava, Anirudh, Gopi Sunder, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Pawan Ch are also grabbing good chances in Telugu.
