After Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, another Tamil biggie has opted for a direct digital release. It is Dhanush starrer Jagame Thandhiram which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. This gangster drama is all set to release on June 18th on Netflix. The streaming giant announced that the film will have a simultaneous release in 190 countries in 17 different languages.
Jagame Thandhiram was supposed to hit the screens on May 1st, 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown had postponed its release. Eventually, the makers decided to release it directly on Netflix. Apparently, the streaming platform shelled out a huge amount to acquire the rights to this movie.
The trailer was released a few days back and drew our attention right away. Viewers across the country are eagerly waiting for this film. If it garners good reviews, Netflix may promote it globally as well. Jagame Thandhiram features Aishwarya Lekshmi, James Cosmo, and Joju George in the other pivotal roles. Sasikanth had bankrolled the project and Santosh Narayanan composed the music of it.
