As OTT has become the major source of entertainment these days, various streaming platforms are coming up with new strategies to attract audiences. In the process, Viacom 18’s streaming segment Voot Select has launched a new initiative called Direct-to-OTT Film Festival in India.
According to reliable sources, this program will be launched on July 23rd and will screen over 15 critically acclaimed films over the span of eight days. Apparently, these films are of various genres that will question the regular social norms. Movies that deal with domestic violence, broken families, female infanticide, and LGBTQ relationships.
Vidya Balan’s critically acclaimed short film Natkhat and Neena Gupta’s anthology feature Shuruaat Ka Twist will be screened as a part of this festival. This movie is an anthology of six shorts that are mentored by Rajkumar Hirani, Raj Kumar Gupta, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Amit V Masurkar. The lineup of the rest of the films will be officially announced by Voot very soon.
