Talented director, Mahi V Raghav is back with his latest presentation Save The Tigers, a comedy caper on Disney Plus Hotstar which he has produced and created. The web series has Priyadarshi, Abhinav Gomatam, and Krishna Chaitanya in lead roles and has been directed by Teja Kamukamu and is streaming now. 

PlotGhanta Ravi(Priyadarshi), Rahul(Abhinav Gomatam), and Vikram(Krishna Chaitanya) are three frustrated husbands who have issues with their wives played by Sujatha, Pavani Gandireddy, and Deviyani respectively. At one point in time, they get drunk and kidnap a popular heroine in Tollywood. Why did these three friends get so frustrated? What are their family backdrops? and why did they end up kidnapping the heroine is the basic story of Save The Tigers.

Performances

It is quite rare that we get to see the entire star cast perform in such a solid manner. But in Save The Tigers, every character has a beautiful arc and only provides good entertainment. Priyadarshi as Ghanta Ravi showcases yet another angle in his acting prowess. His body language and the way he speaks the Telangana dialect are superb in the film. Sujatha plays his wife and she ably supports Priyadarshi. Abhinav Gomata gets a great character and his track is the best in the series. Abhinav’s tongue-in-cheek humor with his maid played by Roshni is amazing and creates so many fun situations in the series. Krishna Chaitanya as a soft-spoken husband is good in his role. But his wife played by Deviyani was perfect as the nagging wife. Harshvardhan, Sunaina, and others did their parts well in the series.

Technicalities

Basically, the story is quite simple and has nothing novel to showcase. But the way, three tracks of different families are showcased is good. Each situation is relatable and the best part is the dialogue written which is hilarious. The punch lines for each and every character are elevated perfectly. Not much is spent on the show but the locations chosen and the visuals are soothing to the eyes. Editing is perfect as each episode is just thirty minutes in length. The screenplay is arresting and holds your attention and engages you throughout. The BGM is also simple and neat.

Analysis

Web Series these days are crime based, dark, and filled with sleaze and foul language. But Save The Tigers created by Mahi V Raghav is a full clean family comedy that can be watched with the entire family. The comedy created by Mahi V Raghav through real-life situations is the highlight of the show. The taunting of wives and how their behavior towards their husbands creates a fun scenario is nicely written by Mahi V Raghav. 

Credit should also go to director Teja Kakumanu for keeping the proceedings light and relatable. Each episode is only half an hour long and ends with a simple twist. Also, the manner in which the comedy is devoid of any double-meaning jokes is the best part. The real-life family situations and how they create petty issues and frustrate the husbands are shown so well in the series. The first four episodes are hilarious and create nonstop fun. 

However, things get a bit boring only in the last episode which has the kidnapping issue. In a way, the first season is only about the three characters and how they get frustrated in life. The second season will be more of the kidnapping drama and how the friends will come out of the tricky situation. 
What’s important is the lead characters Priyadarshi, Abhinav Gomatam, and Krishna Chaitanya, who lead from the front and make sure that the audience does not get bored. Overall, Save The Tigers does not have a great storyline but the execution is what makes the difference. Though a section might find the comedy over the top, the ones seeking entertainment will have an enjoyable outing.
